Classical Pilates Teacher Training – Advanced System

Premier Pilates & Yoga’s Advanced System Teacher Training Course presents how to teach Advanced level exercises on the mat and all Pilates apparatus including reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel, high, wunda and arm chairs, ped-a-pull, spine corrector and small barrels, as well as all other small pilates equipment. Students will continue to deepen their understanding of exercise technique, cues, advanced teaching techniques, teaching different types of learners, anatomy/kinesiology, adjusting/partnerning on the equipment, challenging clients, more advanced muscle release and touch techniques, dealing with various special populations including pregnancy and osteoporosis More of Kathy Grant’s work will be covered in this section as well.

Classical Pilates Teacher Training – Intermediate System

Premier Pilates & Yoga’s Intermediate System Course: Trainees will learn how to teach intermediate level exercises on the mat and all Pilates apparatus including reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel, high, wunda and arm chairs, ped-a-pull, spine corrector and small barrels, as well as all other small pilates equipment. Students will continue to deepen their understanding of exercise technique, cues, imagery, session structure and design, anatomy/kinesiology, modifications, partnerning, muscle release techniques and communication skills for all types of clients.

Classical Pilates Teacher Training – Beginner System

Premier Pilates & Yoga’s Beginner System Course is the first weekend of the Comprehensive Pilates Training and presents how to teach beginner level exercises on the mat and all Pilates apparatus including reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel, Chairs, ped-a-pull, spine corrector and small barrels, as well as all other small pilates equipment. Students will learn the history of Joseph Pilates, as well as various components to teaching the classical pilates method, including the order of exercies, themes, conducting an evaluation session, modifications for chronic pain and injuries, creating and balancing a session and transitioning clients between exercises. Introduction to touch, cues, imagery, session structure and design as well as anatomy/kinesiology will be covered. Additionally Kathy Grant’s work will be introduced.

Date: Thursday, April 5, 2012 – Sunday, April 8, 2012

Time: 9:00am – 6:00 pm

Cost: $2,300

Prerequisites: A Minimum of 25 private of semi-private pilates sessions and 25 pilates mat classes at Premier Pilates & Yoga or an approved studio and each participant should be at an intermediate level of performance. An evaluation session will be conducted to determine eligibility for entry into the program. The cost of evaluation session is not a part of the program price.

Classical Pilates Mat Certification

This Comprehensive Authentic Pilates Mat Training is ideal for aspiring pilates instructors, fitness trainers, personal trainers and bodyworkers. In this course you will learn the entire Classical Pilates beginner and intermediate mat repertoire. Participants will become fluent in teaching all the beginner and intermediate mat exercises and the Classical Pilates Beginner and Intermediate mat sequence. You will also learn how to teach the exercises safely as well as pre-pilates exercises, modifications for varying abilities and injuries and the anatomy related to each exercise. Most importantly, you will leave the course knowing not only how to do and teach each exercise but also why. The six classical pilates principles will be emphasized together with teaching a dynamic, energizing and flowing class.

Exams include a 50-minute practical test on the Beginner/Intermediate level Sequence as well as a take home written Exam.

Prerequisites: Attend a minimum of 15 classical pilates mat classes prior to the weekend.

Premier Pilates & Yoga offers a 700+ hour Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program on all Pilates Apparatus strictly adhering to the philosophical principles of Joseph Pilates. Our teacher training program is unsurpassed, and will prepare you for an exciting career as a certified Pilates Instructor. The program emphasizes the core instruction techniques and focuses on proper execution of exercises inherent to the Authentic Pilates Method and includes all Pilates apparatus. All of our Teacher Trainers have trained directly with Romana Kryzanowska and Kathleen Stanford Grant, two of Joseph Pilates’ protegees. In addition to learning classical pilates on each and every apparatus, each teacher trainee will also have the privilege of learning Kathy Grant’s work as well as intimate knowledge of chronic pain/injuries, biomechanics, muscle release techniques and touch and will be able to work with any client on multiple levels after graduation. Our Pilates Certification program graduates are highly regarded and sought after in the industry and return year after year for continuing education to become better and more experienced teachers.
